Maritime Law

Maritime law, also known as admiralty law, is a body of laws, conventions, and treaties that govern private maritime business and other nautical matters, such as shipping or offenses occurring on open water. International rules, governing the use of the oceans and seas, are known as the Law of the Sea.

Marine Insurance

Marine insurance covers the loss or damage of ships, cargo, terminals, and any transport by which the property is transferred, acquired, or held, between the points of origin and the final destination.

Classification Societies

A ship Classification Society or Ship Classification Organisation is a non-governmental organisation that establishes and maintains technical standards for the construction and operation of ships and offshore structures. Classification Societies certify that the construction of a vessel complies with relevant standards and carry out regular surveys to ensure continuing compliance with the standards.

Shipbroking

Shipbrokers are specialist intermediaries/negotiators (i.e. brokers) between shipowners and charterers who use ships to transport cargo, or between buyers and sellers of vessels.
